SOMALILAND: Investment Promotion Ministry Trains Staff

Hargeisa, (Somaliland Monitor) -The employees of Somaliland’s Ministry of Investment Promotion have undergone training on capacity building for effective service delivery to the public and to ensure that they gain in-depth knowledge on the operations of the Ministry.

Giving her keynote Address at the closing ceremony of the training program, the Director General of the Ministry of Investment, Deka Abdi Yusuf underscored the need for the training and indicated that the training would make the staff to put in their optimal performance in dealing with the public and foreign investors.

She explained that “The staff of the Ministry were posted from other Ministries and therefore there is the need for all of them to abreast themselves of operations, activities and the jargons in the investment sector”.
Participants were taken through topics such as management, investment regulations, with facilitators also drawn from the Civil Service Commission.

Also, in his remarks, Hirsi Abdilahi Ismail, the facilitator of the training advised the participants to take advantage of the training to update their knowledge.

The training program is a part of Ministry of Investment’s intensive drive to develop staff capacity and to keep the ministry staff well versed in international investment practices.
