SOMALILAND: Telesom Showcases Innovative Technologies during ICT Conference

Hargeisa, (Somaliland Monitor) -Somaliland’s largest telecommunications and mobile money Transfer Company, Telesom showcased its innovative digital communications technologies to the participants of the country’s first Information and Communication Technology conference in Hargeisa on Saturday.
The two day conference inaugurated by Vice-president Abdirahman Abdilahi Ismail ‘Saylici’ and organized by Somaliland Ministry of Telecommunication with the aim of bringing together academics as well as industrial practitioners, to share their most recent research, practical solutions and experiences and to discuss the trends, opportunities and challenges in the field of ICT.
VP Saylici addressing at the conference lauded the role of the ministry for the smooth organization. He also praised the role of technology firms and the progress that have been made. Mr. Abdirahman Sayli’i has reiterated that it is the right time to address the level of technology advancement that the nation has made.
He stressed that the government is also keen to upgrade all State sectors using modern technology. The VP also inaugurated the exhibition whereby firms will showcase their products.
Abdikarim Mohamed Eid, the CEO of the country’s most sophisticated telecommunication’s company with high end technological advancement, Telesom speaking at the conference narrated the development stages of Telesom company since it’s inception in 2002.
