SOMALILAND: Telesom Hands-Over Consignment of COVID-19 Medical Equipment to Ministry Of Health

Hargeisa, (Somaliland Monitor) -Somaliland’s largest telecommunications, and mobile money Transfer Company, Telesom, has on Sunday handed over an urgent COVID 19 response consignment of in-kind medical supplies and equipment to the Ministry of Health Development of the Republic of Somaliland.
The consignment is worth US$640,000 and it included pallets of medical supplies, hospital consumables, face masks, ICU ventilators and monitors along with personal protective equipment and Oxygen Concentrator, all of which, comes in timely to support the MoHD efforts in fighting and containing COVID-19 in Somaliland.
The handover ceremony held inside the Ministry premises was attended by the Minister of Health Development, Dr. Omer Ali Abdillahi Badde Minister of Religious Affairs, Sheikh Khalil Abdilahi Ahmed Telesom Chief Executive officer, Abdikarim Mohamed Eid and his deputy, high level government officials as well as health workers.
The urgent shipment of supplies was thanked by health officials in Somaliland. “We appreciate Telesom support to the Ministry of Health Development; it will certainly assist in equipping our national health staff who are working hard to contain COVID 19 in country,” said Dr. Omer Ali Abdillahi Badde, Somaliland Minister of Health Development.
Telesom’s in-kind medical supplies consignment is meant to support COVID 19 response activities implemented by the Ministry of Health Development.
