SOMALILAND: President Bihi Reaffirms Quest for Re-election as Kulmiye Party Leader

The race for control of the Somaliland ruling Kulmiye Party during the forthcoming national conference is now at its final stages.
This comes after the President of the Republic of Somaliland who is also Chairman of the KULMIYE party, Mr. Muse Bihi Abdi, registered as a participant at the fourth conference of the KULMIYE party. planned for the next October.
Prior to the registration the president, at party headquarters in Hargeisa the president , was welcomed by members of the Congress organizing committee and other members of the party leadership who inured members of the cabinet who also went through the process of getting a conference card .

The fourth congress of the KULMIYE party is well underway and the registration of delegates from the regions and districts of the country to be part of the conference is nearing completion.

At this highly anticipated Congress senior party officials will be elected with the president who is chairman vying for re-election as is the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th deputy chairpersons all who are incumbent.
While all party posts are up for the vote the only position in contention is that of the 4th deputy chair currently held by vice president Sayli who is facing opposition from the minister of commerce, ironically a fellow clansman from Awdal region.
